Silêncio Sonoro

Silêncio Sonoro is a non-profit cultural association, based in Ponta Delgada since 2011.

We work to champion culture in all its forms: putting on music and film festivals, concerts and music residencies, running an online community radio, a vinyl shop and a record label made up entirely of Azorean artists, and spreading the word about everything else going on across São Miguel. We believe culture should stay close to the places and the people it comes from.

These cultural expressions are ours, but they are yours too.

Projects

FLOP

A comics and fanzine festival: authors, independent publishing and illustration, made on the island and open to anyone who draws.

Tremor

Tremor brings art, landscape and community together through a programme of concerts in venues and in the open air, performative walks, immersive experiences, artist residencies and conversations.

Terra Incógnita

The Azores sit in the middle of the Atlantic, behind the legends of Sete Cidades. Mythologised land, worked land, transformed land. And still Terra Incógnita: land yet to be discovered.
