In this third episode, we use Azores Pride as a vehicle for a conversation about what it means to be an LGBTQIA+ person in the Azores. For that, we invited a friend of ours, Cristiano Câmara, originally from São Vicente Ferreira on the island of São Miguel. We start big on pronouns and gender fluidity and then move to a complaining reflection on the aesthetic standards imposed on us. Returning to the moment that sparked this conversation, we talk about the LGBTQIA+ Pride March in Ponta Delgada, reflecting not only on its beauty and power, but also on the limitations of it as an event that seeks to unite us.
Thus, we talk not only about the audacity of the Azorean LGBTI+ community, but also about the dichotomy between one's own experience and systemic reality, where we speak directly to the people listening to us.
